2011 Better Ball of Pairs Championship
Casa de Campo Resort - La Romana, Dominican Republic
February 10-13, 2011

Casa de Campo once again provided a spectacular setting for Members in attendance at the 2011 ASGA Better Ball of Pairs Championship. As most of the country struggled with below average temperatures and many battled a seemingly endless barrage of snow storms in the Northeast and Midwest, 85 degrees and sunny with gentle Caribbean breezes was the order of the week in the Dominican Republic! Teeth of the Dog, consistently ranked among the best courses in the World was in outstanding condition, as was the Dye Fore course which many members enjoyed even more. The food, drink and service were as exceptional as ever, highlighted by a very memorable opening reception and dinner right on the beach!
As is always the case with ASGA events, the hospitality and camaraderie were the story of the week and we welcomed three terrific new members; Jack Huse of Bristol, RI, Chuck Sammons of Estero, FL, Mike and Jung Bassett of Greenwich, CT; to their first event with ASGA and hope that we see them at many more to come.
Some great play also highlighted the week, and congratulations go to the teams of Jack Huse/Tom Sweeney and Ron Rucker/Chuck Sammons who shared the title for the top Gross prize. Mike Irish and Andy Cerone travelled from Connecticut and New York, quickly shook off the rust from took home Net honors.
The ladies were led by Judy Adams for the Gross Championship, Carol Milligan posted the best Net score and Kathy Durrett gathered the most stableford points.
Many thanks to those who participated and helped to make this a very memorable week for all in attendance. Please take a moment to enjoy some of the scenes from Casa de Campo, truly a favorite destination of our Members.
