What an incredible week for ASGA Members in attendance at Casa de Campo!! Once again we were treated to a spectacular week of golf, weather, hospitality and camaraderie in the Dominican Republic. While most of the U.S. was struggling with cold temperatures and in many cases on the East Coast blizzard conditions, Casa de Campo provided a week of sunny skies, 85 degree days and gentle Caribbean breezes. While Teeth of the Dog reminded us why it is continually ranked among the best courses in the World, Dye Fore proved to be the favorite of many due in large part to the spectacular setting high above the bluffs of the Chavon River. Dye Fore also presented us with a few golf highlights. Congratulations to Paul Cashion who made a Hole-in-One during the competition on the very difficult 3rd Hole!! During the same round, Mal Makin holed his second shot from the fairway on the par 4 13th….a pretty good day for two guys from Rhode Island who could have been home shoveling snow! Casa de Campo provides ASGA with a wonderful value and the week was such a success that the members made it very clear to the Board of Governors in attendance that they unanimously favored a return next year. We are working to finalize a date and will update you as soon as it is available. If you did not have the opportunity to participate this year, we would highly suggest making this trip a highlight of your 2011 travels and certainly take the opportunity to come a little early and/or stay a little later in order to take advantage of all that the Resort has to offer.
