Oyster Harbors Club, Hyannisport Club, Wianno Club - Cape Cod, MA
September 11-14, 2011

Cape Cod once again welcomed ASGA Members with three days of absolutely perfect weather for rounds of golf at three private clubs! Great food, drinks and hospitality were offered as well, with members enjoying dinner at Hyannisport Club, cocktails at Wianno, an authentic clambake lobster dinner at Oyster Harbors and a gala closing dinner at Oyster Harbors. A most memorable moment of silence followed by the group singing America The Beautiful was offered in remembrance of the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 on Sunday evening at Hyannisport.
Congratulations to Steve Chernock from Orange, CT who made an outstanding birdie on the first playoff hole to beat Chip Landon from Orlando, FL and Ernie Monk from Tallahassee, FL to win the Forbes Wilson award for the overall Men's Gross Championship. Congratulations also go to Dan Milligan of Hilton Head Island, SC who played well in capturing the Tom Monaghan Award with the top overall Men's Net score, and Bill Lichtenberger of Palm City, FL who was the overall Stableford Division Champion. Massachusetts was well represented with Bob McDonald of Needham, MA taking the top prize for Super Seniors in the Gross/Net Division and Oyster Harbors Member Bill Reilly of Marblehead, MA winning the same honor for the Stableford Division.
The Ladies were led by great play from Mary Ann Soldo who won the Gross Championship, Carol Milligan who captured the top Net prize and Rekha Lawande who brought home top Stableford honors.
We are pleased to report that the Membership voted at the Annual Meeting to reduce the age of eligibility for Membership in ASGA from 55 to 50 and we hope that you will take a moment to consider friends in this age group who would be interested in joining the Association. As always, the ASGA Office will be happy to send a Membership package on your behalf at any time.
We would also like to take a moment to thank ASGA President Mal Makin who was recognized at the Annual Meeting and the closing dinner for his two years of wonderful service to ASGA. C.C. Coghill of Palm Coast, FL was elected unanimously by the Board of Governors to serve as President and we look forward to his leadership.
Many thanks to the 130 attendees who helped to make The Clambake such a memorable week and we hope to see many of you at our next event, The Stroke Play Championship at Naples Grande Resort in Naples, FL December 4-7, 2011!

Located approximately 70 miles from downtown Boston, 'The Cape', as it's universally called, is among New England's favorite summer vacation destinations. The colonial-style towns are graceful and dignified, with many great places to shop, eat and, most importantly, play golf.
The Championship will be contested on three of the best courses New England has to offer. All are exclusive private clubs designed or renovated by renowned architect Donald Ross. The Hyannisport Club located in Hyannis Port was renovated by Ross in 1936. The links-style course offers views to the ocean from all 18 holes and wind conditions that change a golfer's approach to each hole daily. The Wianno Club was also renovated by Ross in 1913 and again in 1920. The course at Wianno meanders from near the town center of Osterville down to docks at Crosby's Boat Yard and features a great variety of holes in a mix of links and parkland-style golf. Oyster Harbors Club, also in Osterville, was designed and built by Ross in 1927 originally as a Resort.
