Pine Needles/Mid Pines Resort treated ASGA Members in attendance to a spectacular week of golf on their two outstanding Donald Ross layouts last week! Warm weather and southern hospitality were also highlights our visit to the sandhills region of North Carolina, an area rich in golf history with an abundance of great courses and charming villages. Congratulations to John French on his first victory in the match play format. John has won the Stroke Play Championship twice and finished runner-up in the Match Play two times previously, but was able to defeat Jim Field in the finals of the Championship Division to claim the top prize at Pine Needles. Congratulations also to Rick Behan and Jerry Missel, both of whom were unanimously elected to The Board Of Governors at the Annual Meeting joining Al Durrett, Harry Hummer and Ken Ellis who were all reelected to a second term; all will serve through 2013.
