Holes to be played

54 holes

54 Holes shall be played at Individual Stableford (Net and Gross with Double Bogey Maximum) with an optional Super Senior Flight with the same format as the Senior Tees. The regular course setup distance will be approx. 6,000-6,100 yards while Super Senior will be 5,500-5,600 yards. Overall and Daily Prizes will be awarded for the top scorers in each flight.

The committee will arrange groups each day and there will be a competition between each foursome, best ball of the group gross and net. There will also be individual awards, both gross and net stableford, for those ladies who wish to complete their rounds each day and turn in a score. This format has been very well received at the last few events as it is enjoyable for the many different ability levels represented by our players.

ASGA Members will enjoy two of the outstanding golf courses at Sea Island Resort – the historic Seaside Course and the recently redesigned Plantation Course.

Seaside Course

The most dramatic layout at Sea Island, Seaside is routinely ranked among the top 100 courses in the United States. Beautifully manicured fairways and greens, sweeping dunes mixed with native grasses, wildflowers, and bunkers. And a wind that creates a different golf experience daily. Seaside is an ocean-side links course that combines a beautiful natural setting with a golf course that is both challenging and fun. It’s tough to have a bad day on a course like this.

A Tom Fazio re-design of the 1929 classic by famous golf course architects Harry S. Colt and Charles Alison, today’s course ties the original Seaside with the old Marshside course, transforming two nines from “18 holes that didn’t match into 18 matchless holes,” according to Sea Island touring professional Davis Love III. Along with the Plantation course, Seaside is home to the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic, a FedEx cup event hosted by Love.

Plantation Course

A vision. A labor of love. An on-going conversation between brothers about the course they grew up playing more times than they can count. Inspired by the traditional profile of Walter Travis’ 1928 original nine-hole course, our beloved Plantation Course was completely redesigned by Davis and Mark Love of Love Golf Design in 2019. The result? A course you’ll want to play again and again.

A historic course for a historic resort, Plantation is a classic design that brings back some traditional features and character: bulkheads, railroad ties, the Principal’s Nose on #10 green, a punch bowl green on #13. And a few of Travis’ chocolate drops here and there. Fewer bunkers, a more open feel. Strategically interesting, with a challenging finishing hole. But since this is a course that keeps playability top of mind for all levels, there’s always a way. Along with the neighboring Seaside Course, it is the home of the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic, a FedEx cup event hosted by Love.
